TREASURING ART & CULTURE
THE ART OF HANDPAINTING
From modest beginnings, leather was reimagined as canvas. Abstract, rhythmic, and linear expressions emerged- seeking not to depict the visible, but to evoke the unseen. Through disciplined strokes and layered pigments, oils, and stains, each surface becomes a quiet, non-representational dialogue- open to interpretation, shaped by hand, and alive with individual perception.
LEATHER AS CANVAS. ART AS LEGACY.
Our artisans approach each hide with reverence. The process begins with careful preparation- conditioning, smoothing and priming the leather to receive pigment. What follows is a deliberate choreography of brush, foam and hand, layered patiently over time. No two trunks are identical. Each painted surface evolves through intuition, discipline and an intimate understanding of material. Subtle tonal gradations, controlled distressing, and nuanced shading lend depth and movement creating a patina that feels inherited rather than manufactured.
Layer upon layer, colour is built gradually- sealed, waxed, burnished and polished. Every stage is intentional. Every gesture considered. The final finish is neither glossy nor loud; it is dignified, textured, and alive with character. The result is a Trunk that appears as though it has travelled through time- carrying whispers of heritage while being unmistakably contemporary.
A WORK OF ART SKILFULLY PAINTED INTO EXISTENCE
OVER 12 STAGES & MORE THAN 1,000 MAN HOURS
A few delicate strokes from a soft-bristled brush draw out residue from the process of coloring that rests beneath the lines and curves of our Trunk.
As conditioning wax is circularly smeared onto the fresh-forged facade, a sheen-like lustre theatrically unveils itself to the audience of our artisans.
The final wipe of a soft cotton cloth on the hand-painted hide prepares and primes our exquisite artwork to be showcased to the world in all its glory.
With its artistic patina, the Trunk transcends time, appearing to have aged naturally, carrying the subtle imprint of generations past.
