Ergo, the installation “Timeless travels with the Taj”, handcrafted with a combination of five individual trunks mimicking the ‘C’ shape plan of the hotel, was brought to life. The crowing Moorish dome of the six storied building is delicately captured over the core trunk. Open the core and it reveals the set of 5 drawers lined in plush red suede; a metaphoric representation of the iconic set of 5 floating cantilevered staircases laid in red carpet. With exteriors cladded in fine grain leather and adorned in golden embellishments, the trunk mirrors the architectural brilliance and legendary aura of the historic hotel- a glorious tribute to travel, joy and celebration. “Timeless travels with the Taj” is an apex showcase of diversity in creative thinking, design innovation and adaptive interpretation by Trunks Company.
